What's On Netflix?

According to an ad I saw they are offering Netflix free for the first month if you sign up now. I am happy with my subscription and as long as they keep me happy as they've done I'll be a long time Netflix customer & supporter. If you are not currently a Netflix customer I would recommend as a friend to go ahead and give it a try and enjoy the benefits of hundreds of tv shows & movies there for your enjoyment. Like me, you may discover new things or rediscover classics or heck BOTH!

One of my favorite movies of all time is this classic starring Robin Williams called "What Dreams May Come". I saw it when it was out in the movie theaters in 1998 and was very impressed with it. Robin Williams plays a husband/father who's children pass away and then he himself passes away. When Williams dies, he finds himself in his own bizarre version of "heaven" and accompanied by some twists n turns "What Dreams May Come" takes you through an emotional journey and if you're like me it will send you into some deep thought.

I'd recommend this one for couples, young and old, possibly a date night thing? Either way, if you haven't seen this movie already give it a shot. Let me know if you dig it too!

This is a very bootleg looking kind of documentary focused on the events of September 11th 2001 as well as other major events including an examination of the Apollo 11 moon landing. I stumbled upon this documentary one late night and was very intrigued by the information provided and the break down. I would suggest this video to any "conspiracy theorists" or any people into thought provoking documentaries like this. It has the production value like it was transferred from VHS to dvd back to VHS and back to DVD then ripped onto a computer...but it is very hard to argue with the information they give you. Closed minded people need not watch, as you will probably get all mad and uppity about it...

In Point Pleasant, West Virginia there is a legend called the "Mothman". This film, starring Richard Gere, Laura Linney, Will Patton and Debra Messing, is also one of my favorite movies! If you do some research on the legend of "Mothman" and see some documentaries, you will see after this movie that the movie happened to do the legend justice.

This movie actually gave me chills throughout and always manages to command my undivided attention whenever it's on. If I see it on I can't help but put it on and it is always in my que so when I feel like throwing it on, it's right there waiting.

"Reporter John Klein is plunged into a world of impossible terror and unthinkable chaos when fate draws him to a sleepy West Virginia town whose residents are being visited by a great winged shape that sows hideous nightmares and fevered visions."

There was also an episode of Paranormal State which happened to feature the legend of the "Mothman" as the Paranormal Research Society (PRS) investigated the legend for themselves. They have all seasons (I believe) of Paranormal State, also available for instant streaming on Netflix.

Write ya back tomorrow!

What's On Netflix?

Another movie currently in my instant que on Netflix instant streaming is "Southland Tales" starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Sean William Scott, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Justin Timberlake. I discovered this flick one day as I was just browsing through Netflix and stumbled upon it somehow.

The story is set in near-future California as the world is on the verge of ending (bummer right?). Pay close attention to all of the characters throughout the film because everybody seems to play an important role in the story. There is a mixture of every film genre from comedy to drama and has a very interesting plot.

I thought "The Rock" was brilliant in his role as the lead character and the supporting cast that include Gellar, Scott, John Lovitz, Kevin Smith, Will Sasso, Cheri Oteri and many more fine actors & actresses.

For any people in search of a good "strange" kind of a flick to watch I would highly recommend "Southland Tales" and as I said I suggest you pay close attention to details and most of all, enjoy the movie!

I didn't want to get too into detail because I do not want to ruin it for anybody.

What's On Netflix?

Currently available for instant streaming on Netflix is "Classic Albums: John Lennon: Plastic Ono Band". Any fans of the Beatles and/or John Lennon will enjoy this documentary on the making of the first solo album from John Lennon after the breakup of The Beatles.

Plastic Ono Band is one of my favorite albums for many reasons but mainly the emotion put into each song which introduced us to the REAL John Lennon. Loaded with music clips from the album and interviews with people close to Lennon as well as those who worked on the album including fellow former Beatle, Ringo Starr, this documentary has it all.

Also available for instant streaming on Netflix is "Chappelle's Show", the one time comedy central hit show. Comic genius Dave Chappelle really shined with this show with his comedic views on various social issues including racism, sexism, and all other idiotic tendencies that plague society.

All 3 seasons of Chappelle's Show are available for your viewing pleasure and I'd recommend every single episode!

And finally for today, available on Netflix instant streaming is the entire Rocky series from Rocky 1 thru 5 only excluding "Rocky Balboa" which was technically not considered an installment to the series but rather it's own "thing". Rocky fans ENJOY!

What's Good On Netflix?

As a lover of movies and tv shows both new and classic I have truly enjoyed my experience as a customer of the Netflix service. At a very low price you are able to stream so many movies or tv shows right to your tv or computer and I make great use of my membership by watching just about everything on the menu. How else are you going to discover new gems if you don't explore, right?

I currently stream Netflix to my Xbox 360 4GB Console - Toys & Video Games (Google Affiliate Ad) and also to my Blu Ray player Toshiba Blu-ray Player w/ Wi-Fi - Blu-Ray Players (Google Affiliate Ad). Some movies come out in higher quality on the blu-ray player than on the xbox but with constant updates I think the quality has gotten much better on the xbox than it was before. So whatever you choose to stream Netflix through you are good either way. We were also using our Nintendo Wii Black with New Super Mario Brothers RVKSKAAH (Google Affiliate Ad) for a while but we use that mainly for games now.

The reason I really enjoy Netflix is because of the many varieties of movies & shows it has to offer as I love all genres of movies and tv shows from comedy to horror to documentaries. Lately I have been catching up on episodes of Paranormal State seasons 1 through 5 I've breezed through and also have been watching one of my old favorites "Married With Children" featuring my hero Al Bundy!

My instant que is fully loaded with movies galore as well. About 350 movies are on standby at all times for me to select, watch and enjoy. I even got to discover old classic movies such as the old anti marijuana movie "Reefer Madness". A movie which I find so very funny and later discovered the crew of "Mystery Science Theater 3000" featured Reefer Madness in their "Rifftrax" series available on dvd.

Some of my favorite movies available on Netflix Instant Streaming right now are "Gridlock'd" which stars Tupac Shakur and Tim Roth. Two heroin addicts set out to kick the habit after their female friend (played by Thandie Newton) overdoses. They spend the day going through heck trying to get some help for their problem and face numerous obstacles throughout the film. The film was released months after the death of Tupac Shakur. I definitely recommend this movie for any fans of a good flick filled with drama, suspense AND some comedy.

Another movie in my instant que is "The L.A. Riot Spectacular!" which is a satirical film that examines the L.A. Riots of 1992. Narrated by Snoop Dogg, this flick is pretty brilliant if you are a thinkin' person and enjoy a good satire. It is filled with racism and all of the nonsense that plagues society and was especially present during the riots.  There are many cameo appearances from many stars of yesteryear such as Emilio Estevez, David Rasche (the legendary TV's Sledgehammer!) and one of my favorite comedians and human beings, Dave Chappelle. I stumbled upon this film and am very happy I did and I think you might enjoy it as well.

Those are just two of my favorite movies currently in my instant que for Netflix instant streaming. I will continue to post more suggestions for you movie lovers out there. Have a great weekend!
